Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Companys regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule year-round.

Your Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Student for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) located in Ames, Iowa, or Waterloo, Iowaor Cary, North Carolina, you will be part of a broad team of software developers. You will create software tools and reports to improve the overall team efficiency for systems designers and developers. Depending on technical mastery and work schedule, there is a strong likelihood that you will be a real-time contributor of embedded coding for mechanical and hydraulic systems used on John Deere tractor products.

What Skills You Need

Demonstrated technical problem-solving abilities

Demonstrated experience in a programming language such as C or Java

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working in a team environment

What Makes You Stand Out

Experience using Python or Java to generate reports from a database

Experience with real-time embedded software

Experience controlling mechanical objects with software and electronics

Knowledge of electronic circuits and components with the ability to read schematics and data sheets


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering Technology
