Your Responsibilities
As a SeniorSoftware Engineer for John Deere Financial located in Ames, IA, you will
Coachand mentorcollege students at Iowa State and University of Illinois Champaign on best practices of software engineering
Stayahead of technology trends, as well as current technologies utilized by JDF IT teams
Workon training practices and developtraining curriculum/software to help the students learn and grow in those technologies
Participatein college relationship building activities and recruiting events
Influencecurriculum at ISU and UIUC by working with college staff
Sharebest practices with other units on the training process for early talentat John Deere Financial
Research and develop new technologies for JDF
What Skills You Need
2 + years of strong development skills (including Test Driven Development with languages like Java, React, Node, Python and/or SAP/ABAP)
1 + years of experience with AWS implementation of infrastructure(e.g.Lambdas and Fargate using Terraforms)
1 + years of experience in teaching industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation
What Makes You Stand Out
Good understanding of JDF IT standards and practices
Experience working with several JDF IT applications
Experience with SAP development
Experience coaching, mentoring, or training others
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor's degree inInformation Technology or an Engineering/Technology discipline
