Title: Environmental Engineer - 44019

Your Responsibilities

As an Environmental Engineer for John Deere in Ankeny, IA, you will manage assigned environmental programs, including, but not limited to waste management & compliance, stormwater compliance, regulatory compliance, awareness training of targeted people groups and Chemical Management. In addition, you will:

  • Communicate environmental policies and audit results to appropriate workgroups for awareness and to facilitate any required remedial action.

  • Utilize acquired knowledge to respond to questions or requests for information relevant to environmental issues from work groups inside and/or outside the company.

  • Evaluate test or lab results to determine risk to the environment.

  • Compile data, documentation, and correspondence to comply with environmental regulations and John Deere’s Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements.

  • Have the ability to respond to emergency situations that could occur inside or outside of standard working hours.

What Skills You Need

  • Minimum 6 months work experience or internship experience in an environmental profession/department

  • Experience using standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office, intranet, and internet functions

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Ability to use SharePoint, Microsoft Access, and SAP

  • Work experience in a Manufacturing/industrial environment

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology discipline or in a Science discipline
