Your Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Engineer II for John Deere Des Moines Works located in Ankeny, Iowa, you will.

  • Establish assembly methods, define operations layouts, procuretooling, conceptualizefixtures, and estimatecosts for new programs of moderate scope

  • Defineand investigateproblems, gatherand analyze data, proposeand implementsolutions

  • Innovateand implementcost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of moderate scope

  • Applyelectronic tools across a broad range of applications, including e-builds, modeling and simulations

  • Leadanalysis, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of experience in one or more related engineering areas: Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality

  • 2 or more years of shop floor experience with an understanding of production support

  • 2 or more years of experience with process development and improvement, tooling design, fixturing, and workstation layout

  • 2 or more years of experience with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, and CreoView

  • Demonstrated Project Management skills in large scope projects

  • Demonstrated collaboration and the ability to work in a team environment

  • Effective communication skills

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with John Deere process planning and execution software JDAAT (John Deere Assembly Assist Tool) and MPP (Manufacturing Process Planner)

  • Experience leading strategic projects that affect multiple product lines or areas (Design For Manufacturing Assembly, Make vs. Buy, Competency Projects, Factory Master Plan projects, etc.)

  • Strong data analysis skills ability to create data a collection system, use data to perform descriptive; diagnostic; predictive or prescriptive analytics, and deliver appropriate output consumption tools to wide variety of stakeholders

  • Experience or knowledge of multiple factories and or business unit assembly processes Tooling knowledge Smart Tools (Atlas Copco, IR, Panasonic, SR, etc.)

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelors degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience
