Function: Quality Engineering

Title: Part-Time Student-Quality Engineering-Des Moines IA - 73821

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily/weekly warranty reviews and analysis for crop care products to ensure data accuracy

  • Support Reliability and Warranty activities through the use of the Machine Data Analytics Workbench (MDAW), Warranty Warehouse, and Non-conforming Corrective Action (NCCA) system.

  • Update and maintain Crop Care functional code data in various repository system locations

  • Responsibilities will focus on Crop Care products

  • The position will be responsible for reporting and data analysis on assigned projects.

    What Skills You Need

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Engineering; others may apply

  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university

  • Graduation date of May 2022 or later

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis

  • 16-20 hours/week during the academic year

  • 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester

  • Willingness to learn John Deere warranty tools and systems

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Understanding of farming equipment and systems

  • Desire to resolve engineering problems

  • Good understanding of Excel (data manipulation and pivot charts)

  • Knowledge of database and data acquisition tools
