Function: Product Engineering

Title: Senior Engineer - 43183

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer for Des Moines Works, located in Ankeny, IA, you will lead hydro system and auxiliary circuit analysis & design for global self-propelled sprayers. In addition, you will:

  • Be the PDP Lead for engineering for key sprayer EPDP programs

  • PV&V testing support

  • Work in a diverse cross-functional group to balance cost, system efficiency, manufacturing & ergo needs, supplier capabilities, etc.

  • Active member of enterprise hydraulic core technology team and conduit to local hyd. core team

  • Review work of other engineers within your work sphere

  • Support strategic Supply Management initiatives by helping select alternate suppliers and value improvement opportunities

  • Keeping up-to-date on competitive sprayer hydraulic/drivetrain designs as well as supplier future development projects

What Skills You Need

  • 10 years or more of strong experience with mobile hydraulic design and leadership experience in the hydraulic/drivetrain area

  • Leverage work by successfully organizing clear communications and directing others either in writing or verbally

  • 5 or more years of Creo experience

  • Experience working with both open and closed center mobile hydraulic systems

  • Technical experience in reading and creating hydraulic schematics

  • Experience in analyzing hydraulic data especially specifying and understanding duty cycle and life calculations

  • 5 or more years of experience within the SAP/PDM environment

What Makes You Stand Out

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

  • Experience with Automation Studios

  • Previous management skills including; conducting one-on-ones, evaluating others work using the GPMS system and assisting in end-of-year ratings

  • Experience with monitoring resource costs against budget constraints

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
