Title: Lead Electrification Application Engineer

Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position

This position may be located in Cary, NC, Molile, IL or Fargo, ND per the hiring manager's discretion.This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.

Your Responsibilities

As a Lead Electrification Application Engineer for JD Electric Powertrain located in Cary, NC, Moline, IL, or Fargo, ND you will lead a portfolio of PDP, TDP, and CI electrification projects across two or more product lines in Small Ag & Turf Electrification. You will also

  • Lead multiple electric drive projects in support of product line PDP & TDP and for EL CI

  • Mentor and provide technical work direction to junior engineers, EDPs, and interns

  • Define and develop the engineering requirements of electric drive systems

  • Develop and integrate the electrification system as a combination of power generation, batteries, and actuators with sensing, communication, and power distribution

  • Plan and execute verification of functional performance

  • Own the electrification performance

What Skills You Need

  • 8 or more years of technical experience relating to the development (design and/or test) of electric drive systems

  • 5 or more years of demonstrated ability as a technical lead for projects meeting project performance, schedule, and financial goals while using formal product development processes in project execution

  • 10 or more years of demonstrated experience in product development, in a technical role

  • 4 or more years of applied knowledge of Deere EPDP, ISDP, and TDP processes or equivalent industry processes

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Demonstrated ability to design electric drive systems achieving vehicle program technical and financial goals in a production environment. Key focus on requirements definition and documentation

  • Demonstrated ability to verify electric drive components and systems including test planning, test setup, test execution, and test documentation. Scope includes functional performance, environmental qualification, certification, component reliability, and system durability

  • Strong practical experience in electric drive technology product application

  • Experience with component development of electric machines or power electronics or alternators or batteries or power harnesses

  • Advanced technical degree in electric drive field

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering with emphasis on power conversion, electric machines, power electronics, electric drive control, and/or similar technologies or Bachelors degree in Engineering with equivalent work experience
