As a Senior Battery Software Architect for John Deere Power Systems located in Cary, NC, you will….
Be responsible architecting the complete embedded software for the battery management system (BMS) as well as integration of the control algorithms utilizing the appropriate engineering tools and considering the BMS overall requirements
Lead functional safety analysis for the control architecture to comply with ISO-26262 standard and other automotive safety standards
Define BMS functional requirements based on vehicle, customer, and regulatory requirements
Work closely with BMS algorithm and battery cell engineering
Benchmark of different battery management architectures and technology to determine the optimum solution for John Deere solutions

What Skills You Need
5 or more years’ experience in developing software solutions
2 or more years’ experience in the design, development, and testing of battery management systems in lithium-ion batteries
5 or more years’ experience contributing as a core team member on a cross-functional product development team
2 or more years’ experience in battery management system integration into electric vehicle applications
What Makes You Stand Out
Understanding of Lithium-Ion Battery technology trends, vehicle industry application trends, battery management system technology trends, and lithium-ion battery test approaches.
Deep understanding of Battery Management System algorithms including state of charge (SOC), state of health (SOH) and Safety Functions
Previous hands-on experience with design according to ISO 26262
Previous experience in BMS PCBA architecture, schematic design and validations
Experience with artificial intelligence and/or machine learning methodologies and application to battery management systems.
Experience with battery management system testing.
Experience with construction, agricultural, and turf vehicle engineering.
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronics engineering, Physics, or other related discipline with experience
