Title: JDTIC-PT Student IOS Developer - Champaign, IL - 47088

Your Responsibilities

  • As a John Deere Part Time Student - IOS Developer you will primarily focus on development and maintenance of applications aimed at a vast number of diverse IOS devices.

  • Your primary focus will be the development of IOS applications and their integration with front end & back-end services.

  • You will be working along-side other engineers and developers on different layers of the infrastructure.

  • You will work in a fun, friendly, and fast paced environment consisting of team members with various backgrounds and engineering disciplines to analyze and develop IOS applications.

  • Projects are operated in the Agile environment and one will need to be able to handle multiple projects at any given time.

  • You will also be required to present your findings in onsite or offsite meetings and translate your findings/data into understandable documents.

What It Takes

  • Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code 

  • Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable code for the iOS platform 

  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application 

  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs 

  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

  • Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in one the following:  BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent IOS development experience.

  • Must be registered as a full-time student at University of Illinois - Champaign

  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

  • 16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year

  • 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester

A strong candidate will also have

  • Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include: 

  • Strong knowledge of IOS. 

  • Proficient with Objective-C or Swift. 

  • Experience with iOS frameworks & utilization of libraries. 

  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning 

  • Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards 

  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications 

  • Technical ability to manage software configurations in GitHub
