This position is located at the JDTIC Research Park on the campus of the University Of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.
As a Part-Time Student-Electrification for John Deere's Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) , you will have an opportunity to learn about and get hands-on experience with rugged electric drives and hybrid electric applications. Data analysis of component and system tests, along with writing the associated test reports will also be required.
Assist with Design and Analysis of electrification based systems on vehicles
Review, modify, or build basic system models
Review component and system test data and write reports
Ability to author technical documentation such as software releases, new hardware features, test reports and others
What Skills You Need
Excellent communication skills
Understanding of vehicle electrification systems
Familiar with eMachines, Inverters, DC-DC Converters and other power electronics
Basic modeling skills and ability to use MatLab
Basic data processing skills using MatLab, Excel, PowerBI or other
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience and/or class work with hybrid vehicle design
Experience with high voltage inverters, eMachines, cables, and other related components
Experience with student vehicle teams such as Formula SAE, Formula Electric or similar
Hands-on experience in laboratory settings
Advanced ability to process complicated data sets
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Must be able to present relevant experience or completed classwork related to electrification, hybrid systems or related components and systems
Junior status or higher; graduate studies also welcome
