Title: Part-Time Student-Mathematics/Algorithms-JDTIC Champaign IL - 71360
The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.
This position will be located at the Research Park on the University Of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus in Champaign, Illinois.
Applies existing applications to routine problems
Learns and applies company engineering policies and practices; learns company products
Executes test or analysis plan for product verification and validation
Evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on knowledge of engineering applications
Compiles and furnishes necessary information to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel
All work will be performed at JDTIC in Champaign’s Research Park.
What Skills You Need
Ideally you will be pursuing a PhD in Mathematics; or graduate STEM related field
Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
Graduation date of December 2021 or later
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
16-20 hours/week during the academic year
35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
What Makes You Stand Out
Strong skills in applied mathematics and algorithms
Proficient in statistical analysis
Technical ability to develop software code in Python, Java or C/C+
- Technical ability to manage software configurations in GitHub
Ability to translate objectives and theory to practical design using mathematical tools
Proficient experience utilizing various sensor hardware and software
Proficient in Matlab, Simulink or Mathmatica
