As a Senior Software Engineer for Deere & Company JDTIC located in Champaign, IL , you will...
Coach and mentor college students at University of Illinois Champaign on best practices of software engineering
Stay ahead of technology trends, as well as current technologies
Work on training practices and develop training curriculum/software to help the students learn and grow in those technologies
Participate in college relationship building activities and recruiting events
Influence curriculum at UIUC by working with college staff
Share best practices with other departments on the training process for early talent

What Skills You Need
Deep knowledge of our engineering practices and environments
Onsite at the University of Illinois at least 3 days a week
Experience in an Agile/Scrum team environment
Experience in cloud development with platforms like AWS or Azure
Experience coaching, mentoring, or training others

Capable of collaborating with multiple business stakeholders to provide information technology solutions
Skilled in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution
Proven experience as a work lead providing technical coaching and mentoring to others
Proven strong leadership skill and experience, influence effectively, ability to resolve impediments in a timely manner
Learning Agility / Innovative - desire and openness for continuous technical learning and identifying areas for application
Growth mindset - willingness to deal and thrive in uncertainty
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or an Engineering/Technology discipline
