Title: Data Scientist

Primary Location: Mexico (MX)- Coahuila JD Shared Svcs-Monterrey

Function: Data Science & Analytics

Main Responsibilities

  • Organizes and cleans the data to remove quality issues, combines data sources, and provides relevant information which may include developing samples used to create analytics models or reports.

  • Locates and acquires data from existing data locations, external sources, and new data sources as needed to support analytics and reporting.

  • Works on new data provisioning solutions, explores new ways of organizing data, and focuses on developing sustainable data usage for designated stakeholders including access, costs, and organization processes.

  • Participates in creating analytics models by applying data knowledge throughout the modeling process to ensure the data is valid, accurate, and applicable for the intended usage.

  • Supports data governance activities by acting as a data steward or custodian of certain data elements.

  • Creates ad hoc reports and visualizations that support data-driven decisions.

  • Works with IT to ensure the data architecture meets the needs of the analytics teams and aligns with overall.

What Skills You Need

  • Programming skills necessary to create and maintain applications.

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, economics and trend forecasting.

  • Understanding of various functions within respective business.

  • Knowledge of advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis.

  • Knowledge of tools used for data management or data warehousing.

  • Understanding of programming languages relative to multiple Data Base Management Systems (DBMSs). - Has an expert understanding of the principles, can apply the information to complex situations, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new ground, develop new applications, and provide expert support for other practitioners.

  • Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.

  • Experience visualizing / presenting data for stakeholders using Business Objects and Tableau.

  • Multiple programming languages as Python, R, Java, C, C++, Microsoft Power BI.

  • Query languages as SQL for several DBMS.

Develops, implements, and supports methodologies, standards, and tools for data management such as metadata management, data mining, predictive modeling, data cleansing, transformation and matching, data stewardship, data quality, data integration, data security, and data marts.

Education

Data scientist, Degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent), Degree in a Math discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent), Degree in a Statistics discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent) or alike.

This position will be posted for a minimum of 7business days and unposted when a qualified pool of candidates is achieved.

Candidates must have the necessary work permits to work in the country.
