Your Responsibilities

As a Customer Training Specialist for John Deere Construction and Forestry located in Coal Valley, IL, you will….

  • Develop and deliver training on John Deere solutions via direct customer and dealer interactions

  • Deliver customer and operator training that enables enhanced outcomes

  • Support demonstration sites, fleet, tasks, and activities as assigned

What Skills You Need

  • Knowledge and understanding of heavy construction, earthmoving, and/or roadbuilding equipment machine forms, systems, applications, and solutions

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with customers, dealers, and colleagues

  • Heavy construction equipment operator experience and skill

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Understanding of construction/contractor customer businesses, pain points, challenges, and applications

  • Understanding of earthmoving and/or roadbuilding methods

  • Expert construction equipment operator skill, as identified by on-machine demonstration

  • Experience in classroom or on-site training, teaching, and/or presenting

  • Ability to gain knowledge and skill in operating additional machine forms

  • Machine operation experience with grade control


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Machine application knowledge and operating experience will be the primary considerations for this position.

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction/Architecture/Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business/Management, Engineering/Technology, or Marketing discipline or equivalent related work experience
