Your Responsibilities

As an Instructor for John Deere located in Columbus, OH you will...

  • Focus on delivering instructor led in-field and virtual product training to dealers, company employees, and customers.

  • Take a lead role in the delivery of technical and in-field training - adapting content, training materials, and activities for each class to increase dealership and employee capabilities to diagnose, optimize, sell, or manage various Ag & Turf equipment

  • Be responsible for lab/field/classroom setup, execution, and tear-down of each training event

  • Monitor course effectiveness using Net Promoter Score data

  • Develop strong relationships with dealers, certified dealer instructors, and field teams to promote and fill classes; ensuring highest priority training needs are being offered

  • Research training topics to increase subject matter expertise specific to product, machine systems, professional skills, and product applications.

  • Work with the platforms & training development to develop & update course materials

What Skills You Need

  • Experience in a training and development areas such as instruction, needs assessments, curriculum development, presentation skills, adult learning theory, and other such related training and development work.

  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office as well as department-specific computer programs (i.e ServiceAdvisor 5, CCMS, Tableau)

  • Demonstrated professional communication skills with proven results both written and verbal

  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning with the ability to understand complex systems

  • Knowledge of the dealer channel

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Strong knowledge of Agriculture equipment and/or precision technology

  • 1 or more years of Field experience with regular customer contact, knowledge of dealer/distribution network, and broad product knowledge

  • 1 or more years of factory experience interfacing with design, engineering, and manufacturing

  • 3 or more years as a Field Service Technician

  • 3 or more years as an Agronomist

  • 1 or more years as a Service Manager

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelors degree in an Education discipline or Agriculture (AgriBusiness, Communication, Ag Ed, etc.)
