John Deere Quad Cities Skilled: Facility Operator/Stationary Engineer in Davenport, Iowa
Performs one or more of the following in a team environment:
Operates, inspects, adjusts, lubricates, and maintains equipment used to produce, compressed air, steam, and chilled water for production needs.
Operates, inspects, inspects, troubleshoots, and dispatches service for HVAC, weld fume collection, fire suppression, domestic water, and storm and sanitary sewer.
Types of Machines, Tools and Equipment Used or Operated:
Standard repairman's tools, precision measuring instruments, testing equipment, hoists, generators, compressors, control and distribution equipment for electrical power and compressed air, water pumps, filters, gages, feed water testing equipment, various hand tools. Chillers, fire suppresion pumps, sluice gates/river outfalls, flood support pumps, HVAC equipment, fire suppression valves, reverse osmosis water treatment, sanitary sewer system, storm sewer system, wld fume collection equipment. Company issued electronic devices, Microsoft Office tools, web-based vendor tools, building management software, work order software.
Work is not closely supervised, must maintain a safe work environment.
Work supports a continuous shift operation.
Works with and gives direction to contractor base
Job duties require strong written and verbal communication skills.
Performs work on equipment that is monitored by remotely viewable cameras.
Details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:
Works from prints, manufacturer's instructions, sketches.
Operates, maintains, and cleans boiler parts.
Performs chemical reagent testing on boiler water and makes adjustments to chemical feed system.
Operate, PM, troubleshoot, and dispatch for repairs on pumps, strainers, condesers, heat exchangers, fans, motors, and filters throughout the plant.
Operate, PM, trouble shoot, and dispatch repairs for steam boilers, hydronic boilers, and associated support equipment.
Receive and generate verbal and written communication with all levels of factory employees.
Regularly generate brief written reports.
Operate and maintain refrigeration equipment for process chilled water.
Inspect and exercise fire pumps, including high tanks.
Keep Energy Center, Power House, and other equipment clean and orderly.
Instructs and assists other team members.
Stationary Engineer journeyman's card and/or 8 years of industrial experience
Boiler operation experience
Or - Military experience plus 4 years on-the-job training
Must be able to climb ladders
Must be certified or able to be certified on personnel lift equipment
Must be certified or able to be certified for confined space entry
Must have basic computer skills
