Your Responsibilities

As an IT Analyst you will get a rare opportunity to work on a large-scale global web application in a Fortune 500 company that is regularly ranked among the best companies to work for in the country. The specific project associated with this position is one of the more advanced projects within Deere including SONAR scanning, ESLint, fully TDD'd code, and peer reviewed pull requests via Github. We expect all code to follow proper software engineering principles which are cascaded down from our architects to our tech leads to our developers. This position will primarily be responsible for front end development on the Order Management Project. Specifically this position will work on the John Deere Sales Center team. In addition, you will:

  • Write front end code in support of John Deere Sales Center

  • Participate in the investigation of leading edge technologies that could potentially benefit John Deere Sales Center

  • Participate in discussions with core technical team and extended functional teams to understand technical requirements required to satisfy business requirements

  • Participate in a variety of efforts related directly and indirectly to front-end development

  • Share analysis with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Develop systems and software

  • Provide technical direction and know-how to implementation teams

  • Participate in identification, analysis and selection of complex information technology

  • Work actively with other IT organizations to share knowledge of new technologies, tools and processes

What Skills You Need

  • Good working knowledge and practical experience in UI development with a strong desire to grow and learn in various leading-edge UI technologies and backend development infrastructure

  • 1 or more years of experience with software development/testing/deployment life cycle and best practices

  • 1 or more years of experience with Service Oriented Architecture, including SOAP/REST web services

  • 1 or more years of experience in analyzing and translating business requirements into technical solutions

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • 1 or more years of experience working with a distributed computing environment

  • Knowledge of Enterprise component services (PI, AF, UUC, etc.)

  • Ability to collaborate globally; early morning or late evening meetings

What Makes You Stand Out

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

  • Experience developing in React framework

  • Experience with TDD and CI

  • Experience in backend tools and technologies like Git, MongoDB, GrayLog, SONAR, SOLR, AppDynamics, REST APIs

  • Knowledge with Agile/Iterative project management methodologies

  • Cloud experience

  • Knowledge of Deere IT hosting infrastructure/organization and support processes

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar discipline, or equivalent work experience
