The Opportunity

Role Purpose:

Manages the complete ANZ Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) requirements for JDL & JDF in accordance with Regulatory and Deere requirements. This role is responsible for developing and executing on regulatory and best practice safety requirements for all employees, equipment and facilities. Responsible for the organizations Risk Management protocols and plans.

Role Objectives:

Develops and executes safety management processes, procedures and initiatives for all sites within the unit to ensure a safe working environment for all employees

Responsible for driving a safe workplace culture across the organization

Acts as the companys Occupational Health & Safety representative, identifying legislative obligations & responsibilities, conducting audits and reporting, training and coaching as required to implement OH&S best practice

Assists Supply Chain and Operational staff and managers in relation to contracting service providers, risk assessments for new plant & equipment, relative to OH&S requirements

Responsible for the utilization of the Safety Management System, the processes for recording, investigating, resolving incidents, and the storage of relevant safety documents

Acts as an SME and adviser for OH&S matters, may lead or participate in cross functional projects, including support and participation within the Operations Safety Committee

Provide guidance to the business on OH&S matters as appropriate

Provides leadership with wellbeing programs for the Branch.

What Skills You Need

  • Relevant OH&S qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience and results in implementation of legislated OH&S policy, process, and control

  • Experience in drafting policy, manage safety reporting and proposing effective initiatives

  • Demonstrated influencing, coaching and partnership skills to drive initiatives

  • Demonstrated strong can do attitude and willingness to engage with a range of stakeholders to improve safety initiatives

  • Strong teamwork and stakeholder engagement

  • Demonstrated ability to engage all levels of the business, co-workers and senior stakeholders as necessary

  • Ability to work independently and prioritise based on business risk

  • Maturity in raising risks from a business perspective

    Education / Experience:

    Ideally you will have a degree and related work experience in the following:

  • Occupational Health & Safety

  • Safety Management Systems
