Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position
As a Development Engineer for John Deere Product Engineering Center located in Waterloo, IA , you will:
Coordinates work direction from engineering team to on-site shop resources, ensures test tractor fleet is updated and ready for the next test
Work with utility tractor engineering managers to establish shop priorities and communicate priorities to shop personnel
Communicate to design engineers the tractor assembly issues identified by assembly technicians.
Diagnose tractor performance issues and communicate to appropriate design team members
Manage part procurement & logistics to support tractor rebuilds/updates
Create Work Orders required to complete tractor rebuilds/updates
Support remote tractor builds and rebuild activities (e.g., field test sites)

What Skills You Need
3-D modeling or viewing software (i.e., ability to use Creo View)
Proficiency with Excel
General knowledge of tractor operation and applications
Ability to work independently and across teams to keep program development activities on schedule.
Ability to identify potential resource and/or program conflicts and engage the appropriate individuals to quickly resolve them
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience in a machinery or automotive shop environment
Experience working on agricultural machinery
Experience working in a test lab environment
Experience with electronic, hydraulic, and/or mechanical troubleshooting
Experience working in, leading, and/or influencing without direct authority in a union environment
Experience using John Deere Service Advisor
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology, or equivalent experience
