This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
As a Partner Product Engineer for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will work with internal stakeholders and external business partners to define, develop, and deliver our portfolio of Small Excavators. In addition, you will:
Function as vehicle owner and supply partner liaison for Excavators less than 5 metric tons
Participate on Product Delivery Process teams as the Design representative, ensuring design activities and plans are formulated and followed
Requirements/Product Specification ownership for each program
Investigate and implement continuous product improvements and model year changes
Provide coaching and technical expertise to engineers, designers, and others (e.g., contract workers, off-site drafting, and design) on a daily basis
Work globally with engineering talent, customers, and manufacturers.
Interact with suppliers, Factory Operations, Accounting, Customer/Product Support, Quality and Marketing
Attend Product Line Management Teams, as appropriate

What Skills You Need
5 or more years of previous engineering experience performing analysis, testing, design and/or manufacturing engineering work for a defined portion of a project
Working knowledge of technology development processes, including evidence of multiple program completions.
Project leadership experience, such as a team leader or integration lead on a product development program.
Excellent communication skills and leadership potential.
Experience working with suppliers in the application and design of systems and components.
Cross-functional design experience
What Makes You Stand Out
Good understanding of Earthmoving, Forestry or Agricultural Equipment Applications
Hands-on background with experience in the operation, adjustment and expected performance of Agricultural, Earthmoving or Forestry equipment
Systems Engineering education, training or demonstrated capability
Experience working with customers, dealers, and product support/marketing reps in the resolution of performance and reliability issues globally
Advance degree (e.g., Master’s degree in engineering or technical discipline or MBA)
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Agricultural Engineering
