Function: Product Engineering

Title: Engineer - 43029

Your Responsibilities

As an Electrical Product Engineer, for the John Deere Construction and Forestry Division located in Dubuque, IA, you will design, develop verification plans and execute test or analysis plans for electrical components, sub-systems, & systems which meet customer needs. In addition, you will:

• Lead the design and development of electrical components and harnesses

• Provide leadership to less experienced engineers by providing direction on planning, technical decisions, and priority for electrical systems, sub-system, and component development and testing.

• Lead internal teams to drive methodology and efficiency improvements

• Lead and participate on PDP (Product Delivery Process) ensuring all activities and plans are formulated and followed

• Participate in competitor benchmarking, vehicle specification development, as well as development and maintenance of product design guidelines for the product line.

• Provide problem solving of electrical issues on new product development and current production

What Skills You Need

• 3 or more years of experience in the area of electrical systems, sub-systems, components and/or harness applications performing analysis, testing, and/or design work

• Experience with electrical wire harness circuits and routing

• Experience with electrical components such as batteries, starters, alternators, rocker switches, relays, solenoids, sensors, actuators, connectors, and controllers and monitors

• Experience working with suppliers in the application of electrical components

• Experience in product verification and validation work

• Experience in roles that required a working knowledge of environmental verification testing

• Demonstrated effective communication (written and verbal) skills with teamwork and leadership skills

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience with 3D Modeling tools for harness routing (such as: ProE-ProCable and Mentor Graphics-

Capital Harness)

• Electronics knowledge, particularly sensors and sensing systems

• Working knowledge of standard laboratory instrumentation and calibration processes

• Experience in roles that required a working knowledge of environmental verification testing

• Working knowledge of EMC and EMC testing

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% (both domestic and international).

Education (or equivalent work experience)

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus
