Function: Manufacturing Engineering

Title: Manufacturing Engineer PDP - 70379

Opportunity

Plan, coordinate, and perform manufacturing engineering work for a new product programs at Dubuque. Operate in a team environment within the enterprise product delivery process. At this level, projects are of moderate scope and responsibility; decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by Product Leadership Management Team members.

Responsibilities

  • Innovates and implements cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of moderate scope through EPDP processes.

  • Coordinate work based upon new model program needs such as facility changes, plan for every part, tooling requirement, design for manufacturing, supporting physical builds and start of production.

  • Establishes routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for new programs of moderate scope.

  • Applies electronic tools across a broad range of applications, including e-builds, modeling and simulations.

  • Develops and implements plans to support lean manufacturing through the Deere Production System of moderate scope. Designs operations layouts. Improves material flow and material presentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Background in engineering (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, power systems, ect.) – Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others

  • Understands the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) - Has a good understanding of principles and can independently use the knowledge

  • Knowledge of product, process, and facilities design related to manufacturing - Has a good understanding of principles and can independently use the knowledge

  • Understanding of engineering systems, tools, and databases - Has a good understanding of principles and can independently use the knowledge

  • Understanding of financial concepts such as budgeting, discounted cash flow (DCF), operating return on sales (OROS), return on investments (ROI), shareholder value added (SVA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 to 7 years Manufacturing Engineering experience or equivalent experience

  • 1 to 3 years experience in one or more related engineering areas: manufacturing, industrial, production, methods, reliability, quality, design, warehouse, distribution

  • 1 to 3 years experience with line design, material presentation, line balance, and visual management tools

  • 1 to 3 years experience in planning, organizing, and implementing large scale engineering projects
