Function: Product Engineering
Title: Product Engineer - 43895
As a Product Engineer, for John Deere Construction & Forestry located in Dubuque, IA, you will be responsible for hydraulic system new product development for Davenport manufactured four wheel drive loaders. In addition, you will:
Identify customer needs and implement hydraulic component designs for new loader product development
Work with the other functional areas that interface with the vehicle hydraulic system (engine, electrical, powertrain, structures, software)
Provide technical direction for onsite and remote engineers
Write product requirements documents for components
Work with suppliers to develop components and systems
Lead design and implementation of robust hydraulic plumbing schemes
Interface with a cross functional team (quality, supply management, test, manufacturing

What Skills You Need
Experience completing design engineering tasks for a Product Development Program with demonstrated results in:
Virtual design assessment using computational analysis data and three dimensional assessment of geometry
Design for manufacturability and product durability build support
Improving product design using lab test and field test data
Completing product and engineering bill of material specifications using SAP for all phases of a product development program
Accomplishing program goals within established schedule and costs targets
Experience documenting engineering requirements with documented examples of Engineering Specifications, Engineering Analysis Procedures, engineering guidelines, and/or equivalent
Experience providing technical leadership to a remote engineering resource
Demonstrated experience completing engineering design without direct supervision
What Makes You Stand Out
2 or more years of professional experience in hydraulic systems development
Experience developing off-highway hydraulic system performance
Experience leading a multi-national team
Experience developing or testing hydraulic pumps & valves
Experience leading a multi-functional team
Experience with electro hydraulic systems
A background in construction or agricultural equipment operation
Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or equivalent
Education (or equivalent work experience)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering.
