Title: Product Engineering - Part Time Student - Dubuque, IA - 61269
John Deere Construction and Forestry, located in Dubuque, IA is seeking Product Development Engineering Part-time students to work side by side with experienced engineers to drive the design and testing of electronic/electrical components, and electric drive components from concept through virtual and physical verification.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to: Apply existing application to routine problems.
Produce and/or evaluate possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications.
This may include possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.
Analyze assignments and determines engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for routine problems or projects.
Compile and furnish necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and or supplier personnel.
Learn and apply company engineering procedures and practices and learn about company products.
What It Takes
Knowledge in engineering principles, theory and practice as well as product knowledge.
Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.
Fundamental understanding of machines forms relevant to the specific job assignment and Company division/unit.
Familiar with machines manufactured by competitors.
Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
Students currently pursuing an Electrical Engineering
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
Graduation date May 2021 - requirement of the program is you are available to work a minimum of 12 months prior to graduation.
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
A Strong Candidate Will Also Have
- One or more years electrical or electronics engineering student experience in pursuit of BSEE.
