Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Safety Specialistfor John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will.
Prepare strategic and tactical plans as required to meet company goals around compliance and injury reduction
Act as a liaison with external regulatory agencies and safety suppliers
Establish, maintain, and deliver safety education and training for all employees
Establish and manage processes for periodic inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective action assurance

What Skills You Need
4 or more years of experience in the Occupational Health and Safety profession in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Investigation skills to determine root cause and conduct trend analysis of incidents
Knowledge of governmental/agency regulatory requirements or legislation, occupational health principles, occupational safety programs and ergonomic principles, with the ability to apply to workplace environments
Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution
Understanding of occupational health, safety, industrial hygiene and ergonomic principles
Knowledge of worker's compensation laws and regulations
Ability to travel domestically on occasion
What Makes You Stand Out
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and factory operations
Team leadership experience in a collaborative working environment
Proven history of delivering sustainable safety improvements
Experience working with collective bargaining units
Masters degree in a Science or Business Administration discipline is preferred
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation preferred
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related discipline
