Function: Product Engineering
Title: Systems Engineer - 57910
As a Systems Engineer with John Deere Construction & Forestry Division, located in Dubuque, IA you will use engineering judgments based on technical and on-the-job experiences. The work spans both electrical and mechanical systems on the machine. In addition, position you will:
Have design responsibility for electrical systems and embedded system architecture for new products
Design vehicle features by owning the creation and upkeep of the following: electrical component specifications, electrical and embedded system requirement documents, and software requirement documents
Support design for diagnosing and resolving field issues with Product Support and DTAC
Provide team leadership for supporting engineers and contract employees including: software engineers and engineers and designers located at the TCI engineering center in Pune, India or at TEDA, China
Support CI systems engineering and software projects
Support Product Verification & Validation embedded systems tests and investigations
Champion assigned ISDP projects and support others as needed with electrical and systems support

What Skills You Need
3 or more years of experience with electrical systems development
Experience with electrical hardware, software, and its interaction with mechanical systems
Strong problem solving skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work in a self-directed mode
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience with electronic vehicle control systems development or testing
Experience developing and writing vehicle software requirements
Experience using SAE J1939 or CAN data
Experience operating off-highway equipment
Experience with Asian cultures, particularly Mandarin Chinese language skills
Education (or equivalent work experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant experience
