Title: Part-Time Student-Administrative Quality Engineering-Ankeny IA or East Moline IL - 71371
The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.
This position is currently eligible for a telework and/or a compressed workweek arrangement. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes. This arrangement is subject to change.
This position can be located in either our Ankeny IA or East Moline IL location.
Your Responsibilities
Want to learn about John Deere’s process management system? How we document, sustain, and improve our manufacturing processes at John Deere factories? In this role you will learn about ISO9001, the John Deere Quality and Production System (JD-QPS), and our auditing techniques, while you help us design and implement a new database and app to help update our approach in these areas.
Lead efforts to develop new tool to better document, display, and use our process documents (ie a better way to write our work instructions).
Support efforts to remove waste and inefficiencies in our manufacturing processes.
Lead cross functional team discussions to understand current state, improvement opportunities, and document future state maps.
Input data into new tool.
Conduct user trials and feedback sessions to customize and improve the new tool.
What Skills You Need
Pursuing a degree in IT, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering; others may apply
Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
Graduation date of December 2021 or later
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
Must be able to commute to the work location on a occasional basis
16-20 hours/week during the academic year
35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
Experience with programming languages such as Python, Visual Basic, SQL or other
Understanding of database structures and tools (design and usage)

Experience with ignition software development
Experience with creating and managing databases
Experience with agriculture equipment or farming
