Primary Location: United States (US) - Illinois (US-IL) - East Moline
Function: Product Engineering
Title: Engineer - 50090
As an Engineer for Harvester Works, located in East Moline, IL you will plan, execute and document lab and field tests of combine components or systems. In addition, you will:
Collaborate with a cross functional, global team of design engineers and experimental technician staff
Collect and analyze field / lab data to develop loads and duty cycles to validate new designs
Work with PV&V counterparts for other interfacing module teams including front end equipment
Report test results to the design team and lead discussions for any follow up activities
Maintain an up-to-date status of existing tests and an overall schedule for all team test needs
Lead bi-monthly PV&V reviews for the team
Provide updates to PLMT / PRA as project needs require
Engage in design review meetings to provide input and ideas to resolve challenges that the team is working to overcome
Communicate concerns, gaps, issues, successes to the team / team leader

What Skills You Need
Experienced user of data collection and analysis tools such as NCode / Glyphworks
Experience using mechanical engineering principles as applied to design and test
2 or more years of product engineering, product verification, or equivalent experience
What Makes You Stand Out
Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team
Experience using John Deere information systems and processes related to combine product development
Product design experience using ProE
Basic experience in the operation of or knowledge of combine harvesters
Basic understanding of structural analysis, FEA, as it relates to structures, loads and constraints
5 or more years of experience in mechanical design or test engineering
Experience with operating farm equipment
Education (or equivalent work experience)
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or equivalent
