Title: Engineering Manager - 58786

Your Responsibilities

As an Engineering Manager for John Deere in East Moline, IL, you will provide critical input into major technology decisions (e.g., upgrade decisions, major architectural decisions, establishment of coding standards) within the standards defined by relevant center of excellence groups and in alignment with the needs and priorities of the business. In addition, you will;

  • Support the Group Engineering Manager and the business and acts as a servant leader to their product team(s) – with specific responsibility for Expert Services web & mobile applications, Service Delivery and Transportation Management engineering teams & suppliers

  • Ensure adherence to technical standards that will promote security, quality, delivery and cost effectiveness

  • Ensure scrum teams align their efforts to the needs of the business and work within the framework of overall IT strategy

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of broader portion of the stack end-to-end (user applications - underlying infrastructure)

  • Manage multiple scrum teams and solve problems requiring significant creative, analytical and conceptual thinking

What Skills You Need

  • 5+ years of experience working in an Engineering Manager, IT Team Lead, IT Architect or similar role

  • 5+ years of experience in SW Engineering technologies

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

  • Demonstrated servant leadership capabilities

  • Experience managing technical team members

  • Experience with complex integrated software products

  • Experience working with global teams

  • Experience working in scrum methodologies

  • Experience working with security methodologies

  • Experience working with dealer channel applications

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technical fields
