Your Responsibilities
As a HIL Infrastructure Engineer for John Deere ISG located in Silvis, IL, you will join our team in building a world-class simulation infrastructure to develop and test our embedded software for Seeding, Planting, and Tillage equipment. We are looking for someone with expertise in Hardware in the Loop (HIL) test infrastructure development. This position will:
Create and maintain hardware-based verification environments which emulate physical systems interfacing with embedded controllers.
Perform installation, verification, modification, and troubleshooting of HIL units and hardware
Support modeling and simulation activities for Seeding, Planting, and Tillage programs
Collaborate with design teams to determine appropriate simulations for verification of feature requirements
Resolve support requests from Software Engineers, Verification Champions, and Test Automation Engineers utilizing the test environment
What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)
3+ yrs of experience designing and maintaining automatable HIL systems (ETAS, NI, dSPACE, etc)
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink modeling
Experience debugging complex electrical systems
Experience with serial bus communication protocols, such as J1939 CAN
Knowledge and/or experience in embedded systems
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a self-directed mode
Interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to lead conversations and collaboration
Demonstrable problem-solving skills
What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)
Working knowledge of Tractor, Seeding, Planting, or Tillage systems
Product design or verification experience in Agriculture, Construction, Forestry, and/or Off-road equipment industries
Experience with various test automation tools, such as ECU-TEST, Squish, Jenkins, and GitHub
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelors degree in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
