Title: Industrial Hygienist Senior - 41519
As an Industrial Hygienist for John Deere in East Moline, IL, you will be part of the Corporate Industrial Hygiene (IH) team that provides IH technical guidance and functional support to our global units. In addition, you will:
Plan and direct IH hazard assessments, investigations and audits to quantify risk and determine compliance.
Compile and analyze IH data, draft report documentation and make recommendations to identify, correct, control and prevent IH related hazards.
Support tactical and strategic IH plans necessary to develop company policies, programs, and standards.
Act as a resource to the global organization by providing industrial hygiene support with interpretation of regulations, standards, scientific studies and other related data.
Maintain awareness of emerging IH issues, regulations and standards from agencies such as OSHA, NIOSH, NFPA, FM Global or other associations.
Maintain current professional/technical knowledge and certification through continuing education and professional practice.
Research and implement new sampling strategies and analytical methods.
Ensure proper operation, calibration, maintenance and record keeping of IH equipment.
Collaborate with other functional areas to share IH information to reduce risk.
Assist the organization in developing and delivering IH related training.

What Skills You Need
5 or more years of Industrial Hygiene experience, ideally having IH experience in heavy manufacturing
5 or more years of applying industrial hygiene sampling and analytical methods, as well as operating, maintaining and calibrating IH equipment
5 or more years of applying industrial hygiene specific legal regulations and consensus standards
5 or more years of conducting chemical and physical hazard assessments, as well as root cause and trend analysis
Experience with engineering principles related to IH evaluation and troubleshooting of manufacturing processes including metal cutting, welding, pretreatment, painting, process local exhaust and building ventilation systems
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%, and work off-shifts on occasion
Good interpersonal skills applied to communications, negotiations, and presentations
Experience with occupational health, safety, and ergonomics principles
What Makes You Stand Out
5 or more years of Industrial Hygiene experience
IH experience in heavy manufacturing
IH knowledge of fundamental manufacturing processes and factory operations
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) professional certification
Education (or equivalent work experience)
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering/Technology, Industrial hygiene, Occupational safety or related discipline
Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene is desired
