John Deere Material Coordinator Lead in East Moline, Illinois

Primary Location: United States (US) - Illinois - East Moline

Function: Operations

Title: Material Coordinator Lead - 75184

Your Responsibilities

As a Material Coordinator Lead for John Deere in East Moline, IL, you will lead and participate in cross- functional projects to improve inventory accuracy, material flow efficiency, replenishment and availability. In addition, you will:

  • Assist in improving specific departmental OIA (Operational Inventory Accuracy), IRA (Inventory Record Accuracy) and DOH (Days on Hand) measures

  • Identify opportunities to deploy and improve preferred delivery methods (e.g. sequencing, CDBBS, line direct part delivery, etc.) to improve MAPOU, reduce expedites and optimize floor space utilization

  • Analyze and help implement/improve parameters related to replenishment, containers, bill of materials and allocation

  • Coordinate material logistics for PDP/CI decisions and manage phase in/out of material

  • Participate in the design and maintaining physical set- up of line layouts

  • Maintain critical knowledge specific to material coordinating while continuing to align with best practices at Factory and Enterprise Levels

  • Train incoming Material Coordinators, and assist with creating and executing projects in their areas

What Skills You Need

  • 2 or more years of experience in a Material Coordinator role

  • Experience creating, executing and controlling successful projects

  • Data analytics, root cause analysis and corrective action skills

  • Experience with Material Flow and Inventory Control Systems (e.g. Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kanbans, Crossdocks, Sequencing, Warehousing, OIA, IRA, Bill of Materials, Routings, Component Allocation, etc.)

  • Skills and experience in interpersonal communications, negotiation and conflict resolution

  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and Outlook)

  • Experience working within and between various disciplines in a manufacturing environment (e.g. Supply Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, etc.)

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Ability to organize, facilitate and lead cross- functional meetings

  • Proven use of Six Sigma Principles

  • Experience with Change Management and PDP line design

  • Experience working in an Union environment

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree
