Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Systems Engineer, Power Electronics for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group , located in Fargo, ND, or Cary, NC you will:
Lead cross-disciplinary engineering development activities in support of our Power Electronics product line (Inverters, Converters, Chargers, etc.).
Lead power electronics component product requirements document creation, review, and approval
Define power electronic product line and module architectures to efficiently meet vehicle electric drive system needs
Create and author technical construction files to support industry standard compliance traceability
Liaison between the project team and Product Safety and Compliance groups
Act as a subject matter expert for project teams in Functional Safety and requirements management tools

What Skills You Need
5 or more years of experience with product requirements development, review, maintenance, and traceability
5 or more years of experience in electronic design product development
Ability to gather and understand vehicle level electric drive system requirements and decompose them into power electronics component requirements
Understanding and application of environmental test standards for electronics (electrical transient and steady-state requirements, vibration, temperature, EMC/EMI, etc.)
Understanding and ability to interpret and apply technical information from power electronics related applicable industry standards such as IEC 62477, ISO 23285, etc.
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience working with engineering requirements management tools
Experience in power electronics component development such as inverters, dc/dc converters, and chargers
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and work with stakeholders to prioritize the work
Functional Safety engineer certification
Familiarity with high voltage electronics design practices for isolation, creepage, and clearance rules
Good written and verbal communication skills to support documentation responsibilities and discussions on cross functional related topics
Strong communication skills to effectively work with stakeholders outside own organization to help gather, negotiate, and define design requirements
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Electrical Engineering related discipline
