Title: Senior Test Design Engineer - 92213

Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Test Design Engineer for ISG-ES located in Fargo, ND , you will lead overall test development for high level programs and enhance existing test systems for robust electronics intended for on/off road vehicles and harsh environments. In addition, you will:

  • Lead innovative HW/SW testing architectures and designs for challenging problems. This includes breaking the original requirements down into the proper high level and mid-range architecture creating detailed design notes from the results.

  • Lead requirements definition working directly with product verification, cross functional teams and customers. Review and provide proper feedback driving complete requirements definition.

  • Perform advanced analysis, make recommendations and test design decisions based on results with minimal assistance from others. Review the design calculations of others to ensure proper application of design techniques.

  • Lead code implementation using advanced LabVIEW development practices and tools. Drive process to eliminate tool suite set up problems. Solve integration issues that involve multiple code modules, code bases, and/or multiple developers. Critically review others’ code.

What Skills You Need

  • 5 or more years of experience in electronics testing.

  • 5 or more years of experience in LabVIEW or other NI programming languages.

  • 5 or more years of experience with basic controls, and Data Acquisition systems (DAQ).

  • 1 or more years of experience in SW development (C, C++, XML, Python, etc.).

  • Technical experience using and understanding schematics and hardware analysis software (Pspice, MathCAD, etc.).

  • Experience in statistical analysis (SPC, GR&R, Monte Carlo, etc.).

  • Experience with basic electronics hardware and systems (i.e. Op Amp, FET’s, Transistors, A/D converters, serial and parallel interfaces, etc.).

  • Good written and verbal communications skills (English).

  • Understanding of product development phases.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Developing automated tests for electronics design verification testing.

  • Electronics manufacturing functional testing experience.

  • Experience developing automated Electric Vehicle test systems for design verification testing.

  • Experience with communication protocols (i.e. CAN, Ethernet, Automotive Ethernet, RS-232, USB, Modbus, etc.).

  • Power Electronics and/or Vision testing experience.


Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering from an accredited engineering program.
