Function: Product Engineering
Title: Senior Software Engineer - 56574
As a Senior Software Engineer, for John Deere Turf & Utility (Fuquay-Varina), you will gather and document the system-level requirements, define system architectures, and break high level requirements down to subsystem requirements for next generation T&U equipment. In addition, you will:
Support rapid prototyping, integration and verification and validation testing of sub systems.
Support application development, including: low level drivers, operating system interfaces, control algorithms and display interfaces.
Operate in a team environment with the vehicle systems engineers and other functional teams (Hydraulics, Mechanical, Electrical teams) providing technical leadership, design solutions and on-vehicle system diagnostics
Assign coordinate and review portions of the work with other engineers and support personnel.
Provide technical consultation and be the expert in systems architecture and vehicle controllers.

What Skills You Need
5 or more years of System or Product engineering experience
3 or more years of experience in system design, development and validation of embedded control software including C/C++/MATLAB development
Knowledge of principal components used in embedded systems including microcontrollers, operating systems, diagnostics and control Algorithm
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% (both domestic and internationally)
What Makes You Stand Out
Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:
Experience modeling control systems using Matlab Simulink and/or Stateflow
Experience using Vector tool chain, such as: PREEVision, DaVinci tool suite, CANdela Studio, etc.
Experience with communication networks (e.g. CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.) and protocols (e.g. UDS, XCP, J1939, ISO11783, TCP/IP, etc.)
Working knowledge of board level hardware design and configuration
Education (or equivalent work experience)
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Computer Science or Technology related discipline
