Main Responsibilities

Delivers advice to clients where there are questions about the law, facts and company policy. This level works with supervisory involvement. Researches, gathers and organizes facts and presents reasoned conclusions. Communicates internally after discussion with supervisor. Identifies clear legal precedent or the absence of same and verifies through research. Understands company performance and critical success factors including longer-term forecasts and business plans as they relate to general practice. Has academic familiarity with legal principles. Consults with higher-level attorneys on evaluations. Adapts existing documents to include agreed-upon provisions. Executes recommended actions and alternatives to achieve business goals/objectives. Reports to a higher level attorney and may manage external resources.

What Skills You Need

  • Provides research, legal and/or Intellectual Property counsel, recommendations, and alternatives for the least complex legal questions and issues, usually in support of seasoned attorneys.

  • Negotiates and/or files legal briefs and documents including applications, opinions, contracts, notices, and agreements.

  • Assists senior attorneys in analysis of issues to identify legal problems.

  • Reviews legal documents for compliance with applicable laws.

  • Stays current on emerging trends in the law through continuing legal education, reading, professional conferences, and participating in professional associations.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Knowledge of risk management within areas of specialization and responsibility.

  • Ability to perform legal research.

  • Understands legal issues affecting area of responsibility, able to identify issues associated with assigned tasks, and able to spot ethical issues in practice.

  • Effective writing skills, including grammatical usage, persuasive copy and style.

  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution.

  • Legal knowledge and understanding.

Education

  • Lic. en Derecho; at least 4 years of experience working at a law firm or at a companys legal department.

    This position will be posted for a minimum of 7business days and unposted when a qualified pool of candidates is achieved.

    Candidates must have the necessary work permits to work in the country.
