Title: Manufacturing Engineer II

Primary Location: Mexico (MX) - Nuevo León JD Shared Svcs-Monterrey

Function: Manufacturing Engineering

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for creation of visualization and monitoring systems built around the Ignition platform.

  • Conceptualize, design and develop in-house automation solutions for factories

  • Develop, configure and maintain machine vision based inspection/mistake proofing applications

  • Provide design suggestions & estimation to upcoming projects.

  • Review the work done by teammates & provide technical guidance for system issues & queries

  • Ensure Project deliverables meet expected timelines and Quality as per the defined Deere Quality Process.

  • Support configuration & production trials for visualization and dashboard systems

  • Contributes in training the team and building talent

  • Leads analysis, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology.

What Skills You Need

  • 5+ years of work experience on design and development of HMI, MES, and SCADA systems

  • Solid handson experience for design and development using Ignition platform

  • Experience working with SQL or Oracle databases, Writing medium to complex queries, stored procedures, functions, Ignition Data historians and triggers

  • Excellent programming and development skills on Python scripting, .NET and O365 platforms

  • Experience in design and configuration of machine vision based inspection and mistake proofing solutions

  • Sound knowledge of different factory systems using OPC UA solutions like Kepware

  • Worked on Communication Protocols like RS 232/RS485, CAN, TCIP/IP, Modbus, etc.

  • Aware of Software Development Life cycle and MFG process

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Ignition certification (Core certification desired, Gold certification will be an advantage)

  • Experience in PLC, UDS, .NET, Core Java, MQTT, Power Automate is an added advantage

  • Strong debugging & problem solving skills

  • Experience in Cloud, CI/CD pipelines, cloud databases and related Technologies

  • Experience to work in Operational Technologies

  • Certifications in Scrum and related Agile technology is added advantage

  • Understands the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).

  • Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification process.


Bachelor or above degree in Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering or similar.
