As a Software Analyst on John Deere's Global IT PDP MBSE:MCAD & Visualization team, you will get the opportunity to work on large-scale global applications in a Fortune 500 company that is regularly ranked among the best companies to work for in the country. This position will be on the Model Based System Engineering Product Team. In this position, you will be responsible for collaborating with other software engineers and analysts to drive configuration, design and development within Windchill RV&S and Modeler to meet the requirements and demands of our Product Engineering facilities and Engineers globally. In addition, you will:
Work as member of Agile delivery team responsible for the Model Based Systems Engineering product team.
Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to ensure features meet business needs
Complete analysis and definition activities required to enable implementation of software solutions
Perform testing activities to ensure desired functionality is delivered
Troubleshoot reported problems and incidents, and supports their resolution
Create necessary documentation to facilitate long-term support of product
Develop work estimates to facilitate team planning processes
Follow Agile software delivery methodology
Participate in root cause analysis and resolution of production support issues
Follow all Change Management processes related to solution delivery
What Skills You Need:
2 or more years of experience performing analysis, definition, and business requirements gathering activities as they relate to the delivery of technical solutions
Understanding of software delivery principles and constraints in the data- and web-based application environments
Basic understanding of Incident, Problem and Change Management processes
Experience in the use, support and application of highly complex software solutions for Model Based Engineering Systems
Basic technical acumen regarding SQL, Database Structures & Queries (e.g. DB2, Oracle, SQLServer)
Experience working with multiple integrated systems
Architectural understanding of Client/Server interactions
Understanding/experience with Linux and Windows Operating systems and Infrastructure
Excellence in verbal and written communication forms
Ability to manage many competing priorities/requests in a fast-paced environment
Appetite for continuous learning and willingness/dedication to develop technical skills needed to further develop, transform, and modernize Model Based System Engineering products, processes, and solutions using a DevOps mindset
Self-starter willing to take the initiative to resolve technical issues and continuously improve IT products and services
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional, multi-cultural teams
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a self-directed team.
What Makes You Stand Out:
Experience in an Agile/Scrum team environment
Experience utilizing system execution/quality monitoring tools
Understanding of the current Windchill RV&S and Modeler technology stack
Basic understanding of system engineering principles
Knowledge of systems integration technologies (i.e. SAP PI/PO, EDI, etc.)
Basic Understanding/Experience with DevOps principles and lean development such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (GitHub, Jenkins, Active Control, etc.)
Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)
Education (or equivalent experience):
- Four year degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience.
