Title: Welding Manufacturing Engineering

Primary Location: Mexico (MX) - Nuevo León JD Shared Svcs-Monterrey

Function: Manufacturing Engineering

Major Purpose

Provides support for and/or assistance with products or engineering processes in WELDING. At this level typically plan and perform appropriate tests using existing procedures for process control and failure analysis, provide support for products or engineering processes and routine analyses for materials, manufacturing process and methods, provide problem identification and resolution, root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, reliability analysis and verification/validation test plan development. Provides guidance on test procedures to engineers and support personnel. Requires greater knowledge and understanding of lab testing equipment and technologies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks involving analysis of samples, components and/or processes with minor engineering oversight for moderately complex activities.

  • Work with maintenance and production personnel to provide support and troubleshooting of new product programs, equipment, processes or analytical problems.

  • Specifies tools and methods and maintains appropriate documentation.

  • Monitors performance of manufacturing and/or test equipment and processes, makes necessary modifications to maintain process and keep equipment working properly.

  • Develops route from the design community into factory manufacturing processes for implementation of new products and improvements.

  • Performs planning and estimating for new parts and/or programs to include generating cost for new parts and ordering necessary gages and tooling.

  • Develop, recommend and implement analytical or process changes needed to maintain or improve product quality on a tactical or strategic basis.

  • Participates on project teams to leverage knowledge and experience while improving factory performance in safety, quality, cost and delivery.

What Skills You Need

  • Knowledge of Welding Competency

  • Knowledge of engineering systems, tools and databases.

  • Background in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, power systems, etc.).

  • Understands the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).

  • Understanding of specification systems and decision release systems.

  • Knowledge of process and industrial engineering practices, systems, and tools.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Fluent in English – verbal and written advanced communication skills.

  • Experience working within multicultural groups.

  • Technical experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools, weld fixtures validations and tryouts.

  • Experience in project management – small to mid-scale complex projects.

  • Experience with shop floor manufacturing and work measurement.

Education (or equivalent experience)

Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
