Main Responsibilities
Lead DSM team of 7 to 8 members as Techno managerial role for ongoing PDP projects. Assist team members in resolving complex technical issues, model correlations etc. Ensure project deliverables are met for entire team as per expected KPIs from platform teams.
Manage & plan resources and workflows for ETEC DSM team working closely with multiple engineering platform engineering managers and leads.
Create and execute development plan for employees in alignment with business unit long term needs. Engage and motivate team for performing at their highest potential. Collaborate with technical leads, members from platform teams, enterprise teams to successfully drive goals.
Perform managerial duties for team such as capability development, GPM, Goal reviews & progress, succession planning etc. Manage team level budgets, expenses and proactively plan & communicate operational KPIs.
Plan, coordinate, perform Dynamic System Modeling & Simulation to support conceptual/ preliminary/ detailed design of systems and sub-systems for different platforms and product lines through hands on project execution. Contribute towards virtual prototype goal.
What Skills You Need
Prior experience with DSM tools: MathWorks Simscape & Simulink & physics-based modeling.
Demonstrated experience in developing DSM Models and running Co-Simulation with Mechanical, Hydraulic and / or Electrical actuators and components. Conduct simulation-based design explorations and communicate recommendations for product engineering teams.
Demonstrated examples of driving design changes through sub-system/ system / machine level Virtual Prototypes & Plant Models development.
Should have good understanding of MIL/ SIL/HIL.
Expert level Knowledge in engineering principles, theory, and practice as well as basic product knowledge of Off Highway vehicle.
Experience in developing or improving analysis procedures and developing knowledge documents.
Good Communication skills to collaborate with various engineering groups such as Design, PV&V, Software teams.
Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.
What Makes You Stand Out
Good understanding of Controls theories and applications.
Prior experience of managing engineering team.
Prior experience in collaborating with Embedded Systems team and providing Plant Modeling Support for MIL / SIL Simulations.
Expertise with understanding the duty cycles of off highway machines and developing test cases for the Simulation.
Awareness of production systems.
Experience in leading or supporting team / function level initiatives.
Ability to evaluate the relative merits of new technologies for the purpose of creating competitive advantage.
Education
- Master of Technology/ Master of science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
