Title: Safety Professional - 56077
As a Safety Professional for John Deere in Grovetown, GA, you will provide interpretation, analysis, and support of programs or related projects which support the health and safety management system. In addition, you will:
Participate in the design, implementation and continuous improvement of processes to reduce workplace hazards.
Solve problems which are complex in scope.
As appropriate, interact with external agencies as the agent of the unit in both a strategic and tactical role.
Be responsible for upholding unit safety programs and initiatives by meeting both regulatory and company standards.
Complete risk assessments and develop processes/programs to close identified gaps.
Collaborate across multiple functions and contingent workforce provider to engage stakeholders
Compile and analyze necessary data, documentation, and correspondence to comply with safety regulations and health and safety management system requirements.
Develop recommendations for health and safety processes/programs to meet John Deere health and safety standards and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Participate in unit strategic planning process.
Coordinate safety audits and risk assessments to identify noncompliance with John Deere standards processes and applicable laws and regulations.
Manage corrective action and preventative action processes.
Lead incident investigations and ergonomic reviews and assists in determining effective corrective action.
Review new products, equipment, and processes for potential hazards and compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Make recommendations if necessary prior to introduction.
Respond to internal and external questions and requests for information relevant to safety and health issues from acquired knowledge and experience.
Develop, direct and conduct safety presentations and training.
Assist or manage workers compensation and return to work programs.

What Skills You Need
Experience in the Occupational Health and Safety profession in a manufacturing environment
Experience with governmental/agency regulatory requirements and legislation
Experience with safety management systems and industry standards and ability to apply to the work environment
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and factory operations
Investigation skills to determine root cause and conduct trend analysis of incidents
Experience analyzing and interpreting data
Experience training other employees
Skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional support of 2nd and 3rd shift to meet customer needs
