In the heart of southern Wisconsin, designers at Horicon Works get to work on popular products that serve very large numbers of John Deere customers. The region and lakes are great for outdoor living, plus the nearby towns and cities have a lot to offer.
As an Electrical Engineer for the Turf & Compact Utility business, located in Horicon, Wisconsin, you will.
Design vehicle systems for riding lawn equipment products and Gator utility vehicles and (battery-electric and gasoline power systems), involving embedded controllers, displays, harnesses, sensors, and power systems.
Use product design process while representing the electrical system in design teams to develop components and vehicles with John Deere engineering rigor. Determine the critical path for issues, define action plans, communicate project status to stakeholders.
Engage in current product improvement. Provide rapid response to product validation, factory, and field issues as needed.

What Skills You Need
Experience working as an engineer or engineering intern
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with those inside and outside your group
Demonstrated skills in design of one or more of the following areas: Vehicle electrical systems, electronic hardware, harnessing CAD, battery-electric vehicles
Experience in managing projects: planning and execution
What Makes You Stand Out
Product engineering experience for outdoor products, with emphasis on selecting requirements, design, and validation
Experience in operation or maintenance of utility vehicles, riding lawn equipment, or farm vehicles
Experience with electrical development for automotive or off-highway vehicles or components
Experience with project management, and the ability to break a complex opportunity into smaller actions
Experience with product development process (PDP)
Experience with Systems Engineering processes
Experience with embedded software design, J1939 CAN, and/or troubleshooting prototype embedded systems electronics in partnership with software engineers
Experience with battery-electric or hybrid vehicle development
Experience working with supply management, suppliers, PV&V testing, factory operations, or customer support
Experience with Capital Harness Systems software and Creo
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related career field
