Title: Analytics Data Engineer - 76474
This position may be in Johnston, IA OR Austin, TX OR can be performed remotely per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency
As an Analytics Data Engineer at John Deere, you will support the analytics research and development process by harmonizing data into suitable formats for data scientists to consume. As an expert in designing data for analytics, you will prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modeling, including but not limited to machine learning and deep learning. In addition, you will:
Collaborate with a team of analytics professionals to design, build, and continuously improve analytics products
Analyze and organize raw data, both structured and unstructured, and determine feasibility for inclusion into models
Build data pipelines to support research & development and partner with MLOps Engineers to productionize data pipelines as appropriate
Identify opportunities to acquire and integrate new data
Write and support code in a variety of languages, including but not limited to Python, R, and SQL

What Skills You Need
Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (e.g. R, Python, SQL)
Experience with analytics/bigdata platforms and/or technologies (e.g. AWS, DataBricks, Spark, Scala)
Experience in data visualization tools or application development (e.g. Tableau, R Shiny)
Skilled in interpersonal communications, negotiation, influence, and conflict resolution
4 or more years of work experience in data science or a related field
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience with multiple statistical programming languages such as R, SAS, Python, SQL
Knowledge of User Experience (UX) and/or design
Proven ability to influence without authority
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. statistics, data science, mathematics, computer science) with minimum 4 years of experience required
