Title: Software Engineer - 77140
As a Software Engineer for John Deere located in Johnston, IA, you will be responsible for developing end to end dealer facing retail financing solutions. In addition, you will:
Implement solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance of software applications
Collaborate with other relevant stakeholders and team members to collect requirements, describe software product features and technical designs
Execute necessary documentation, as directed, or needed
Follow industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation
As a member of Team Dealmakers, you will be actively engaged in modernizing the applications in this product family. This includes cloud migration, modernization of batch jobs from mainframe to AWS and other opportunities that’s will enable in bringing new solutions to the users
What Skills You Need
Experience in the design, development, testing and integration of high complex software solutions leveraging change management processes
Experience designing and developing service-based architecture and/or micro-services
Experience designing data caching and persistence concepts using both SQL and NoSQL DBMS (for example: MySQL, DB2, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB, etc.)
Experience with software test automation techniques (Test Driven Development) and framework (Junit, Mockito, Cucumber, Cypress,)
Working experience leveraging DevOps and lean development principles such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery/Deployment using tools like Git, Jenkins, etc.
Working experience of AWS services (ECS, Lambda, etc.) and understanding of infrastructure as code using terraform or CloudFormation
Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment
Understanding of Object-Oriented design patterns
