The Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) of John Deere in Kaiserslautern develops future trends and technologies in the area of mobile agricultural and construction machinery in cooperation with different research centers. In addition, ISG develops and sells products and services in the area of precision farming using global satellite based navigation systems (GNSS), automated steering systems, machine automation, sensor technologies, telematic system solutions, web applications as well as apps for mobile devices to optimize farming processes and to support decision making.
The John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group in Kaiserslautern is looking for a
GNSS Test Engineer (f/m/d)
Provide software engineering test and verification of John Deere´s line of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers
Work with Software Engineering to define test setup and metrics, standardize test plans and data analysis tools
Provide daily assistance and guidance for team on scheduled tasks/bugs which may involve working with non-technical team members in order to understand customer faced issues
Understand Global Positioning System concepts and fundamentals through directed work assignments and training material for self and fellow team members
Direct technical contribution through engineering validation, test plan creation and tool development and simulator testing
Perform product verification in lab environment and in dynamic test vehicles
Other domestic travel supporting field testing or trouble shooting issues may be required
What skills you need:
Diploma/Master in Geomatics, Communication Systems, Electronics or similar
Min. 1 year of professional work experience
Solid knowledge in GNSS positioning solutions
Experience working with Matlab, LabView, C/C++, or other programming language
Demonstrated analytical, reporting & presentation skills
Excellent communication skills
Fluent in English language
Ideally, you have knowledge/practical work experience in:
GNSS Receiver program execution
Agile development/ Lean development
Experience in software tools, such as Microsoft Project, Team Foundation Server or Rally
Experience using a Source Code Control Package in a team environment in the normal course of development cycles
