The Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) of John Deere GmbH & Co. KG in Kaiserslautern develops future trends and technologies in the area of mobile agricultural and construction machinery in cooperation with different research centers. The John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group in Kaiserslautern, Germany, is looking for a
User Experience Lead.
As a User Experience Lead for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG), you will provide research support across our user interfaces (cab, web, mobile) working with multiple groups across ISG as team member or consultant. You will identify user needs, conduct research, create and communicate a User Experience strategy specific to our Region 2 customers, and work with design and development teams to implement your work. In addition, you will:
Guide, define, and execute research of moderate to high complexity, covering an expanded set of user classes and personas, which may involve creating new personas
Lead and/or participate in the creation of the user experience (UX) strategy for a narrow set of related products
Provide insights and recommendations that influence the design of products that span multiple platforms, typically within a single division, involving complex and often concurrent operator interactions
Actively share User Experience knowledge across workgroups of many functional areas
What Skills You Need
4 or more years of experience designing and conducting user experience research
4 or more years of experience applying human factors or user experience principles to technology design
Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas to peers and to management
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects at once while quickly shifting focus.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%
What Makes You Stand Out
Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:
Experience with agriculture or construction vehicles or similar industry
Experience with agile development methodologies
Experience with product and application development, including knowledge of software development and testing practices
Experience designing for in cab display, web, and mobile platforms
Experience working in a User Experience (UX) role or on a UX team
Experience applying a broad range of User Research tools
Experience negotiating with stakeholders to drive an intentional design philosophy
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:
- Advanced Degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Human Machine Interaction, or related field discipline
