Title: Electrical Hardware Engineer

Your Responsibilities

As an Electrical Hardware Engineer for John Deere in Kernersville, NC or Dubuque, IA, you will lead and participate in the planning, developing, and design of electrical and electronic systems within the HEX and DEX excavator product line. In addition, you will...

  • Lead the design of wire harnesses and electrical hardware, developing and executing project plans, and resolving critical development issues.

  • Develop and maintain electrical system and/or component design specifications.

  • Own electrical product design guidelines and documentation of the product line electrical intellectual property.

  • Support physical builds and production launches, testing, customer field evaluations, and EDPR/QIT teams to rapidly address early field issues and emerging quality problems.

What Skills You Need

  • 2 or more years of experience developing, integrating, or testing vehicle electrical systems

  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and willingness to attack emerging issues, determine root cause, and drive corrective action

  • Experience leading/owning project deliverables

  • Demonstrated ability to work in self-directed manner

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience developing complete electrical vehicle systems or sub-systems

  • Experience developing wiring harnesses and electrical systems using 3D CAD tools and schematic software such as CREO and Capital Harness Systems

  • Experience with off-road equipment electronic design, CAN communication bus interfaces, and electromagnetic compatibility.

  • Experience troubleshooting vehicle electrical systems


Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
