John Deere Kernersville: CNC Machinist
As a CNC Machinist with John Deere in Kernersville, NC, you will:
Machine parts on CNC machine tools designed to turn, drill, bore, and/or mill production material in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:
Turn, drill, bore, and/or mill parts to specification using CNC machining tools and processes.
Operate one or more CNC machines to complete an operation.
Read and comprehend work instructions and follow established procedures.
Utilize manufacturing tools to record data and keep records for quality and maintenance.
Check results for conformance to specifications and make necessary corrections.
Operate power driven equipment such as forklifts and industrial trucks to move material, parts, and equipment.
Use various types of CNC machine tools, material handling equipment, overhead cranes, jigs, fixtures, measuring gages and instruments, and other applicable hand and power tools.
Lubricate, check, and clean work equipment and tooling.
Assist and support other team members.
Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
These positions are for second (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm) and/or third shift (10:30 pm to 7:00 am)
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have at least one of the following:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
Must have a CNC certification (or equivalent) or at least 1 year CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must have familiarity with basic welding concepts.
Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing of repetitive actions.
Ability and willingness to work any shift and potential overtime (including weekends).
