Supplier Development Engineer(m/f/d)
As a Supplier Development Engineer for John Deere in Mannheim, Germany, you will lead supply development projects to develop a supply chain capable of providing increased flexibility, capacity and responsiveness, improved utilization of assets, improved quality, and reduction of overall cost. You will need to work both internal (with Deere contacts at different locations) and external (supplier) leadership to manage and measure the business to reduce cost, improve margins and deliver quality products on time.
In addition, you will:
Lead supplier development projects to assure capacity, reduce costs, improve quality/warranty and on time delivery
Lead and solve critical supplier delivery situations to assure part availability
Conduct supplier and part level capacity planning, identify inefficiencies, and develop action plans to close gaps.
Perform business process assessments with suppliers to identify improvement opportunities
Lead, coach and support the execution of improvement projects with/at suppliers
Lead cross functional global teams to successfully execute Supplier Development Projects
Conduct regular project reviews with Deere and supplier leadership to ensure successful project execution
What skills You Need:
4 or more years of Supply management, Supplier Development, Operations, or Manufacturing Engineering roles.
Understanding of Order Fulfillment and Manufacturing Operations processes
Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution
Understanding of fundamental business principles and practices
Experience with Supply Management Processes and tools
Ability to travel up to 50%
What Makes You Stand Out:
Cross-functional work experience(s) in areas such as product engineering, quality, manufacturing, operations etc.
Experience in working with suppliers internationally
Project management experience
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Management, Business, Engineering/Technology
This exempt position is based in Mannheim and vacant as soon as possible.
