Your Responsibilities

As a Product Consultant at John Deere Shared Services Construction and Forestry in Miami, FL you will help sell tractors, develop dealer sales people, and listen and drive the needs of the customer. In addition, you will:

  • Support implementation of specific strategies to achieve target market share for these products primarily through our Latin American dealer channel

  • Assist is sales efforts in the U.S., Canada, and the rest of the world as needed

  • Focus on the dealers where share performance is poor and where we can have a significant impact to increase market share

  • Help dealers sell more machines by demo assistance, sales calls, and general customer visit

  • Connect with the Corporate Business Division (CBD) accounts: large volume customers who we are building long-term relationships that buy in multiple quantities

  • Help consult in the creation and deliver product application classes, present at new product introductions, press events and release for applicable products, Latin American customer events, and finally support customer "fly-ins" at various Deere locations

  • Support applicable trade show events as a subject matter expert

  • Be available for the applicable product meetings once per month to provide marketing feedback for the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) and competitive intelligence

What Skills You Need

  • 1 or more years of Grader, Excavator, and Loader operating experience

  • Operator experience of other equipment types (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo)

  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both verbal and written

  • Experience in selling machine features to customers

  • Experience presenting to large and/or small groups (such as: equipment operators, customer management personnel and OEM, Cat, Komatsu, or Volvo Product Line Groups

  • Experience with mechanical maintenance and repair of production size construction machinery

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% both domestic and international

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Face to face sales experience with customers and dealers

  • Completion of professional sales training programs

  • Experience in site prep and material handling

  • Experience with customer/dealer operating, safety, and application training

  • Experience with designing and presenting custom training programs to meet dealer and customer expectations including class room and field presentations

  • Portuguese language skills

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Management, Engineering/Technology, or Marketing
